Orchard Guidelines

While visiting Lawrence Community Orchard we ask that the following rules are observed;

 

  • Visiting hours for the orchard are from dawn to dusk Monday-Sunday.
  • Please stay within the borders of the orchard and to not trespass on private property.
  • Visitors are welcome to pick sample size quantities of ripe fruit. Please record your name, produce, quantity, and date in the logbook an the sign board so that we may track public use of our orchard.
  • That being said do not ingest any plant that you are unfamiliar with and are not 100 percent certain is safe and edible.
  • All pets must be on a leash at all times. Any refuse left by animals must be removed from sight by owner.
  • Removing living plants or plant tissue such as scion wood is prohibited. Special arrangements can be made with our leadership team to collect plant propagation material.
  • Do not attempt to perform orchard maintenance without the supervision and consent of the LCO leadership team.
  • Do not  climb on trees, prune trees or shrubs, or plant anything in the orchard.
  • Burroughs creek trail contains considerable litter. If you see trash please place it in appropriate waste receptacles.
  • If you enjoy LCO or harvest fruit from it, please consider donating your time or money to our project.
  • Cigarette and tobacco use is prohibited.
  •  Fires are prohibited.
  • If you see anything that is of concern please report issues directly to Lawrence Fruit Tree Project.
